Calling All Speakers of Story In Many Formats.
Storytellers. Poets. Speakers. Spoken-Word Performers. Let’s “talk shop” at the beginning of the new year! Take time to work ON your business and not just IN your business and art. Reflect on your role as speaker, performer, leader and influencer! If your work involves speaking stories in front of a live audience, then this event is for you. Open to all, but expect a deeper-level discussion that is best for folks with some experience in their art forms. This retreat is intended for adults over the age of 18.
Working with the three pillars of Sean’s “Outside In” coaching method, we’ll walk through the essentials of the story experience. We’ll talk about the person of the artist, the role of words on an audience, and how we gather an audience. One session will feature a guided discussion about issues specifically raised by you, the retreat participants.
You are in for a weekend of: Some reflection. Some art. Some business. It’s an intensive workshop and a retreat. This will be a “rethinking” for anyone involved in working with story in spoken word, oral storytelling, poetry and the like.

Lodging and Travel:
You will want to fly to the PHOENIX airport.
This event is in the private home of Sandy and Dwight Oglesby. It is an easy 25-minute drive from the airport.
A spot is available for someone who might like to stay (lodge) with the Oglesbys but you’ll need to discuss fee and arrangements directly with Sandy. We’ll give you contact info when you register.
If you need advice on local hotels, we can make suggestions. Look for hotels near the ZipCode™ of 85028. January is “high season” for travel in Arizona. Typical daytime temperature is about 70 degrees or so.

A small event like this relies on pre-sales to assure that we can properly pay for the event. As such, any refund requests before January 6 will include a $50 cancellation fee. There is no refund after January 6, 2018. A minimum number of participants is required to hold this retreat. Should we not have the minimum required by January 7, 2018, your registration will be refunded in full, without fees. You may transfer your registration to anyone before January 24, 2018 without any additional fee. Contact us if you’d like to do so.
